Guided tours · Peasholme Green, York

Blue-chip British art, a decommissioned hypersonic rocket, and a really good cause.

Volunteer-led tours through one of York's most unexpected buildings — Henry Moore, David Hockney and a 12-metre Soviet rocket, all under one roof. Every ticket supports a different York charity.

Why come

An office block that behaves like a gallery

Hiscox built one of the most talked-about offices in York — then filled it with art most people only see in a national collection. We get you in to see it.

01

A genuine collection, hidden in an office

Over 25 artists currently on the walls — Hockney, Henry Moore, Gavin Turk, Gerhard Richter, Howard Hodgkin — drawn from Hiscox's 1,000-piece collection worldwide.

02

Yes, that really is a rocket

A 12-metre Soviet hypersonic test vehicle dominates the atrium — one of only three believed to survive. It's the last stop on every tour.

03

Every ticket gives back

We've raised over £35,000 for York charities since 2018. This year's tours support Guide Dogs UK, with donations matched by the Hiscox Foundation.

04

Run by people who love it

Guided entirely by volunteers, led by John Jobling since 2018 — with past collaborations including York Creatives spotlighting local artists.

Tours like this don't run on their own

The Hiscox Foundation match-funds donations taken on the night. York Creatives has joined us to introduce local contemporary artists alongside the permanent collection. And a small team of volunteers gives up evenings and weekends to keep the whole thing running.
